D H D Traveler 6807 became one of the most influential sires of all-time and the number one semen sales bull in the history of the Accelerated Genetics AI Stud after being the top-gaining and top WDA bull at the 1987 Midland Bull Test where he sold for $10,000.
He was born in 1986, just nine days after his famous contemporary, N Bar Emulation EXT, and together they are the undisputed most dominant sires of their era, with the ability to sire moderate birth weight with added performance, volume, fleshing ability and thickness in a moderate frame.
D H D Traveler 6807 is the most widely used and most influential son of his landmark sir, Q A S Traveler 23-4. He has left the breed with many important sons that continue to make their mark, including O C C Emblazon 854E, Alberda Travler 416, Connealy Dateline, GAR Commitment, GDAR Traveler 044, Plowman 1627 of Millbrae SAR, Rito 6I6 of 4B20 6807, Sitz Traveler 9929, SS Traveler 6807 T510 and many many more, along with numerous grandsons that proudly carry the torch of this dominant sire lineage.
His Pathfinder Dam, Bemindful Maid DHD 0807, is sired by the Pathfinder Sire, PBC 707 1M F0203.
The more than 6,200 daughters of D H D Traveler 6807 in production in the AHIR program to date are from nearly 1900 herds and include the dams and grandams of many breed greats. His most valuable female offspring is the legendary Ideal 4465 of 6807 4286. She has generated nearly $2.5 million in progeny sales to date. This cow is famous for being the foundation of the first family in the Angus breed recognized for excelling in feed efficiency. She is regarded as DHD Traveler 6807's greatest daughter, she sold for $45,000 as the all-time top selling female to sell at Jorgensen Ranches in 2003 and went on to sell one-half interest for $55,000 for a $110,000 valuation as a twelve year old in 2006 at the Sterling Hunter Dispersal. She is the dam of our donors, SH Lady 4465 5119 and Sinclair Lady 5ET3.
6807 has solidified his place in Angus history as a unique sire of low birth – high growth genetics, maternal excellence, superior fleshing ability and excellent carcass traits. His daughters possess extra volume, power and fleshing ability along with moderate size, high fertility and excellent udders.
D H D Traveler 6807 ranks as one of the all-time great contributions to the breed from Dale Davis, pioneer Angus breeder and founder of the Rollin' Rock herd in Montana.
