Black Grove Elation is the best bull we have ever raised here at Black Grove. He is extremely thick, well muscled, and long-sided individual. He has great legs, feet and bone. In September had a hip height of 54 inches (51/2 frame score), weighed 1910 lbs and had a 39cm scrotal circumference.
Last Year, he won his class, senior calf champion, and reserve grand champion at the South Carolina State Fair, proving that he has tremendous phenotype.
Elation is the full brother in blood to ABS Global sire Sinclair Picasso 7X44. Picasso topped the 2007 Sinclair Cattle Company bull sale with a sale of $80,000 for half-interest to High Valley ranch. Picasso later was sold 1/3 interest private treaty for $150,000, for a valuation of $450,000.
His sire is N Bar Emulation EXT, the most widely used AI sire in the breed. N Bar Emulation EXT is renowned for his female offspring and their mothering ability, along with superior carcass values. He is the most proven sire in the breed, and combines the above traits with functionality, longevity, fertility, structural soundness and udder quality. He has sired many famous and productive offspring, both bulls and cows, including, Leachman Right Time. His dam N Bar Primrose 2424 set the record when she sold for $100,000 at 17½ years old.
Black Grove Elation’s dam, Sinclair Lady 3R1, sired by the famous RR Rito 707, is a powerful and functional matriarch. Her offspring averaged over $10,000 per head and she sold for $25,000 in Sinclair Cattle Company’s 2009 female sale. This pathfinder dam is a full sister to Sinclair Rito Legacy 3R9.
Black Grove Elation’s maternal granddam is the legendary Ideal 4465 of 6807 4286. This cow is famous for being the foundation of the first family in the Angus breed recognized for excelling in feed efficiency. She is regarded as DHD Traveler 6807’s greatest daughter, she sold for $45,000 as the all-time top selling female to sell at Jorgensen Ranches in 2003 and went on to sell one-half interest for $55,000 for a $110,000 valuation as a twelve year old in 2006 at the Sterling Hunter Dispersal. She has generated nearly $2.5 million in progeny sales to date.
We have drawn over 900 straws of semen from this bull, and have over 600 straws available ship to anywhere in the US and Canada.
He also has an outstanding disposition evidenced by the fact that he was shown by a 14 year-old girl.
