Selected by Black Grove as a $25,000 featured heifer calf in the record-setting $3 million dollar dispersal sale at Shady Brook Angus Farm where her flush brother Shady Brook Forever was the second high-selling bull, Shady Brook Forever 135H continues the tradition of the cow family descending from the legendary Pathfinder Dam LT Forever Lady 395 GDAR. With a weaning ratio of 134 and a yearling ratio of 117 on her first natural calf, this powerful young cow has carried on the productive tradition of her Pathfinder Dam who had the highest average progeny ratios in the famous GDAR herd in Montana when she sold for a record price of $85,000 there in 1997. She is 15 years old and still producing for Wayne Wilde’s herd in Minnesota.
The first daughter of this powerful female by AAR New Trend offered for sale by Black Grove was the $10,000 top-selling bred heifer of the 2002 production sale at Black Grove. Another Bandolier daughter just sold for $6,200 to Shadybrook. Her full sister Black Grove Bandolier 266 is one of the most exciting young donors retained by Black Grove. Her mating to AAR New Trend, SVF Bandolier, and Leachman Right Time produced an outstanding array of young individuals from the Black Grove embryo program. The consistent performance and phenotype validates this family’s ability to proclaim their superior genes.
Rissee Angus purchased half-interest in her son Black Grove Bandolier 246 for $10,000. He was the top performing bull in his pen at Hurley Farm's Bull Test. In addition her three Right Time sons were sold for $5,000 each to one breeder. She is establishing herself as a strong bull as well as female producer.
Three-quarter sisters to this awesome young donor have ranked as $300,000 and $320,000 world record-selling cows of the Angus breed and the mating of the rare and valuable Traveler 124 GDAR to daughters of GDAR Rainmaker 340 has proven to be an outstanding genetic combination. Ranking among top 1% of Angus dams for Milk EPD and among the top 25% for WEPD, the top 10% for weaning value ($W). She is a powerful, easy fleshing female with a beautiful udder. As you can see from her picture she has excellent length and expression of muscle. This is complimented by her tremendous capacity. Her flush brother ranks among the top 10% of active sires for Milk EPD, among the top 15% for UREA EPD and U%RP EPD and among the top 20% for IMF EPD based upon scan data from 16 progeny.
