Black Grove Lucy 4054 is a powerful young female which will serve as our foundation Lucy family donor. She is bred for carcass and longevity.

Her carcass value was validated by her tremendous ultrasound results. She had a 5.61 IMF ratioing 118 and she had a 13.6 Ribeye ratioing 116. In addition she is statistically one of the most complete young females in the breed.

She is 2nd in $B, 2nd IMF, 3rd $G, 5th Milk EPD, 7th UREA EPD, 9th U% RP, top 1% $B, top 1% IMF EPD, top 1% Milk EPD, top 1% $G, top 2% U% RP EPD, top 1% UREA EPD, top 15% CED, above breed average $F, above breed average WEPD, above breed average YEPD. She had an actual birth weight of 79 lbs.

Her longevity is inherited from her dam, the famous Thomas Lucy 9083, who is nineteen (19) years old and still producing using in vitro at Transova. Half interest sold for $18,000 at the A+ dispersal in 2005. She has seven natural calves with an average weaning ratio of 116, five yearlings with an average ratio of 113 and 21 progeny scanned with an average IMF ratio of 118. She is 4th Milk, 5th IMF, 9th $G, top 1% $G, top 1% IMF EPD, top 1% for Milk, top 2% for $B, top 4% UREA EPD, top 15% U% RP, top 15% WEPD, top 25% CED, top 25% YEPD and top 30% $F. And remember these statistics from a cow born in the 1980s.

Her sire, CA Future Direction 5321, reigns supreme in the breed for calving ease and carcass merit. Progeny are well balanced and structurally sound with extra muscle. He is a 6.5 frame bull who weighs 2,300 pounds and has a 40 cm. scrotal. Future Direction and his sire are the only Angus sires to rank in the top one percent for ultrasound IMF, REA, and % RP.

Many of the young cattle being bred today have impressive statistics, but very few come from the kind of proven performance over nineteen (19) years outlined above. 4054 has it all . . . performance, carcass and longevity. We believe that Black Grove Lucy 4054 is one of the most exciting young donors in America.

Her first natural calf was a bull who was born on 12/4/06 and weaned on 5/7/07 weighed 576 lbs. She will be flushed to OCC Emblazon 854E, Leachman Right Time and GAR Predestined.
