BLACK GROVE CHLOE 250 is one of the most unique outcross genetic pedigrees in the industry. She combines the rare and valuable SVF Bandolier with the most prolific Angus sire in the history of Argentina Basin Rainmaker 654X.
Her donor dam Basin Chloe 940A was a double-bred GDAR Rainmaker 340. Black Grove acquired her in the first Stevenson/Basin Cow Sale. Doug Stevenson described her as the best cow he had in the sale. She was very feminine, deep ribbed with tremendous capacity, and had a beautiful udder. Her sire is Basin Rainmaker 654X and like her sire she ranks among the top 1% of the population for Milk EPD and her five calves with AHIR data have an average nursing ratio of 108 and an average yearling ratio of 105.
Her sire, the rare and valuable SVF Bandolier is the most muscled carcass bull in the breed and one of the all-time highest performance sires. He is ranked as the sixth highest ultrasound ribeye bull in the history of the breed.
For EPDs he also ranks in the top 1% for milk, top 5% for weaning, top 10% of yearling. For ultrasound he ranks in the top 1% for ribeye, top 5% for % retail product, top 15% intramuscular fat. Black Grove Chloe 250, like her dam, is very easy-fleshing, deep-ribbed, giving her tremendous capacity and she has a perfect udder. 250 is ranked in the top 1% for Milk EPD. Her ultrasound EPDs place her in top 20% for % IMF, in the top 3% for RE and in the top 10% for %RP. She has all the tools to be a unique and valuable donor.
Her full brother, Black Grove Bandolier 236, served as one of our junior herd sires. He had an actual ultrasound marbling score of 4.97 and is one of the deepest ribbed bulls we have ever produced in our 44 years in the business.
